That's a pretty good deal. Fyi it's an import version with a slightly different case design if that's important to you. the switch is region free so it will play with no problems (except DLC might not be available)

I thoroughly enjoyed the first two Paper Mario during the N64 days, and not so much thereafter.... Is this game as good as the ones from N64?

It has the most bizarre fighting concept. No idea who came up with such a weird concept. It's also really repetitive and battles feel like a chore. Not their best game.

And I thought I got a good deal getting it for 20% off + a $10 gift card at Shoppers. Not my favourite Paper Mario game by far but I still enjoyed it.

I don't think so because it's a PAL/UK/Europe case so the SKU probably won't register. But it can be resold on Kijiji.

YMMV. GameStop won't be able to scan the SKU since it's imported, but if they're not picky about it, they can scan the same game if they have a used copy in stock.

Just to add to this post. The writing in this game literally carries everything. The story, while goofy, does have its tear jerking moments and the comedy is gold. If they just went back to just retuning the old mechanics in the earlier games instead of coming up with some wacky bizarre gimmick than this would have been probably the top 5 switch games to be released.

I got bored of it pretty quickly when I first tried playing it but plan to return to finish it some day. I found the writing, particularly the humour, pretty charming. The art style is pretty cute. I like the idea of the combat system but there's not much complexity to it, so it gets very repetitive outside of the boss battles. Hard to go wrong with this price though.
