I am going to teach you the simple steps on how to make origami Pikachu balloons. I am going to explain the entire process of making along with the images.

Essential Supplies to Make Pikachu Balloon

The 4 most essential and basic supplies you need to make an origami Pikachu balloon.

1. Origami paper

2. Black Coloured Sketch Pen / Pencil

3. Red Coloured Sketch Pen

4. Googly Eyes

DIY Origami Pikachu Balloon Step by Step

 This yellow coloured paper will give Pikachu its signature look. So I am using yellow here. Similarly, use a black and red colour sketch pen to draw a face and other details.

Just follow these simple steps as given below and your beautiful adorable origami Pikachu balloon will be ready in no time.

 Use Yellow Colored Origami Sheet

Take yellow coloured paper to create a genuine look at the Pikachu balloon. Take a small sheet of origami paper about 30 cm x 30 cm. Then fold the paper into equal half.

 Fold the Paper into Equal Half From the Other Side

After the first fold opens the paper where you can see the middle crease line. Further, turn the paper and fold it again into equal half. Similarly, by putting finger pressure make a proper crease.

Fold Diagonally from Left Corner over Right Corner

Once the above folding is done, open the paper and fold the paper diagonally from the left corner over the right corner. Add a little pressure and make a proper crease of each fold.

Fold the Right Corner Paper over the Left Corner Diagonally

Now fold the right corner paper over the left corner diagonally and then slowly fold it and make the proper crease. Kindly follow the image for any doubt or any confusion.

Fold the paper from the Center and Create a Triangle

Now hold the paper from the center and fold and then you will see a triangle. Don't be confused, look carefully, and do the foldings. While folding be patient else it will damage the whole craft.

 Folding the Sides and Creating a Diamond

Once the top folding is done you can see a center crease line now hold the right side of the paper and fold it upward. As shown in the image below.  Similarly, fold it on the left side. Make sure you are doing it slowly and putting pressure well to create the crease.

 Flip the Paper and Create Another Fold

Now flip the paper and fold it similar to the one above folding. Once all folding is done you can see a small paper diamond. But make sure you are making a proper crease.

 Detailed Folding at The Center

Now once all folding is done, fold the center, and then slowly you have to fold this part. Hold the edge of the center and then fold it inward. Similarly, do on the other side. Make a proper crease by putting finger pressure on.

Fold the top Edges of the Craft

Further, as folding is done above similarly fold the top edge. Now hold the edge and slowly flatten it. Do the same on the other side as shown below. Then fold the paper properly and put a crease on it as shown in the image given below.

Inserting the Edge of the Craft

Now you have to insert the top edge into the side folding. First of all, open the side fold as shown in the image and then slowly insert the right side of the top edge into it. Similarly, do to the top-left edge and then flatten this fold well.

Flip the Paper and Create another Fold

Now once the above folding is done, you have to flip the paper. Here you have to make a side fold until the centerline. Further, hold the side edge and fold it well.

Similarly, do it for the other side and make sure you are putting finger pressure on and flatten it well.

 Separate the Center Part Diagonally to Make Ears

Now here you can see a separation in the middle. You have to hold one side of the top edge and fold it diagonally as shown below. And then flatten it properly. Similarly, make the fold to the other side and make proper crease of all the foldings.

 Make Use of Black Sketch To Colour the Tip of the Ears

Now take a black coloured sketch pen and then colour both tips of the ear as shown in the image below. If needed, keep something below before sketching to avoid a mess.

 Glue the Side Folds

Now take glue and apply a little to the side fold and stick well similarly, do it on the other side. Leave to dry for a minimum of about 3 – 4 minutes under the fan or room temperature.

 Blow in the Tiny Hole at the Bottom Of the Craft To Inflate it

Now pick up the craft and look for the tiny hole at the bottom and blow it slowly until it inflates. Don't blow hard or be in a rush to blow else it might damage the Pikachu balloon. Now you have a cube with two ears.

Use Glue to Stick the Googly Eye

Now take glue and apply a drop of it and then place googly eyes on it one by one. Leave to dry for 5 minutes under the fan.

 Draw a Pikachu Face Using a Sketch Pen

Make use of a black coloured sketch pen to draw eyes, nose, and mouth. Now use a red coloured sketch pen to create cheeks.

2. I am not able to Inflate the Pikachu Balloon Perfectly. What to Do? It's not very hard to inflate it, you need to first look for the tiny hole at the bottom. Then slowly start to blow into it, the blow should not be very hard or mild. Think as if you are blowing up a balloon, that's it. You will see a perfect inflate cube.

3. When I am creating a face it's going inside. How do I stop it? First of all, always try to create a face before blowing it up. In case you have forgotten then also don't worry. Make use of a thin and lighter sketch pen and draw it slowly. Don't give pressure while drawing it. You can also use stickers to create a face and just glue them.
